奥迪100s
1968年，奥迪发布了基于C1平台研发了第一代的奥迪100，其命名来源于初代奥迪100所搭载的最大功率为100马力的发动机。
1982年，基于C3平台的第三代奥迪100车型上市。
1985年3月，上海大众合资公司于正式成立，主要生产桑塔纳轿车。在上海大众成立的同一年（1985年），国家就有了引进奥迪100轿车的想法，并最终决定由长春一汽和上海大众同时试组装。在经过初期试装后，该项目最终落地长春一汽（此时恰逢一汽与克莱斯勒就引进克莱斯勒600的谈判破裂）。
1990年12月，第四代奥迪100（C4）问世。1992年12月，长春一汽开始以CKD模式生产这一代的“奥迪100-4”（C4-V6）。由于此时轿车走私活动非常严重，所以在大陆不时能看到一些德国原装的奥迪100

Audi 100s
In 1968，Audi launched The first generation Audi 100 which was developed on the C1 platform，and the name 100 came from the 100hp engine of top version.
The Audi 100-C3 released in 1982
In March 1985, the “Shanghai Volkswagen Joint Venture Company” was formally established, and producing Santana（Passt B2）. In the same year , the govermant had the idea of import the Audi 100（C3） , and finally decided to tentative assembly by Changchun FAW and Shanghai Volkswagen same time. After the tentative assembly, this project finally “landing”at Changchun FAW (which coincided with the breakdown of negotiations between FAW and Chrysler on the introduction of the Chrysler 600).
In December 1990, the fourth generation Audi 100 (C4) was launched. In December 1992, the FAW began produced "Audi 100-4" (C4-V6) by CKD model. Due to the serious smuggling activities of cars at this time, some German original Audi 100 also can be seen the mainland
