东风悦达起亚 千里马
1974年的都灵车展上现代汽车推出了第一代Pony，7年之后的1982年，现代推出了第二代Pony。1986年，现代推出了Pony的继任者Excel。现代解释为“卓越的小马（Excellent Pony ）”的简称（同年9月份，微软发布了Excel表格软件😂）。在美国，这款售价仅4995美元车在当年就创造了12.6万辆的销售记录，次年再次以26.4万辆刷新了年销量纪录。但是，由于过分压缩成本和零件质量不佳，Excel品控极其不稳定，以至于美国国家运输安全委员会曾4次命令现代召回Excel。之后，虽然现代推出了质量升级后的Excel二代，但是销量每况愈下，最终于1994年停产。
同年，现代向市场上推出了第三代Excel。这款车在韩国本土和美国叫Accent(也就是初代雅绅特)，在欧洲部分地区和澳大利亚则叫Excel。特别值得一提的是这代Excel也来到了中国，就是我们熟悉的起亚千里马（现代的合资厂北京现代在2003年才成立，如果不用悦达起亚的工厂生产的话就只能进口。同时，这款车的引进也促成了东风-悦达起亚的成立，因为悦达起亚没有小轿车的生产资质所以不得不与东风合资以利用东风的轿车生产资质）。

btw：千里马并不是起亚在中国生产的第一款车，起亚正式在中国生产的第一款车实际是起亚普莱达（Pride）。在90年代初期大量的地方汽车厂开始了生产民用车，其中广东新会汽车厂、广东韶关广通汽车厂和兼并了盐城汽车总厂的悦达集团都不约而同的选择了起亚普莱达（Pride）。其中新会和广通采用的是CKD组装的方式生产，而悦达集团则在1997年与起亚组成了“悦达起亚”（注意，此时还没有东风），以合资模式生产；

Dongfeng Yueda Kia Qianlima
In 1974，the Pony was introduced at the Turin Motor Show, and the secend generation Pony was introduced in 1982. In 1986, Hyundai introduced Excel which is the successor of the Pony . Hyundai said that the name meanning of "Excellent Pony." (Microsoft released Excel in September of the same year 😂).In the U.S, the $4,995 Excel sold 126,000 units that year and 264,000 units at next year. But because of overcompression and poor parts quality, Excel quality control was so unstable that the US National Transportation Safety Board ordered Hyundai to recall it four times. Later, Hyundai released an improved the version of Excel secend generation, but sales deteriorated and it was discontinued in 1994.
That same year, Hyundai introduced the third generation of Excel . The car is called the Accent(the first generation Accent) in South Korea and the America, and the Excel name still in parts of Europe and Australia. It is worth mentioning that this generation of Excel also came to China, which is the Yueda Kia Qianlima[千里马\qianlima is a horse which could still running thousand “china li（500m）” not rest]. (Beijing Hyundai joint venture company was established in 2003, and Hyundai had no choice but to import the Excel without producing it at factory of Yueda Kia. At the same time, the introduction of this car also led to the establishment of Dongfeng Yueda Kia, because Yueda Kia did not have the production qualification of amall car, so it had to let Dongfeng enter into the joint venture company to use of Dongfeng's production qualification).

btw: The Qianlima not the first car that Kia has produced in China. The first car that Kia officially produced in China was the Pride. In the early 1990s, a large number of commerce auto factories began to produce civilian cars, among which Guangdong Xinhui Automobile Factory、Guangdong Shaoguan Guangtong Automobile Factory and Yueda Group-which acquired Yancheng Automobile General Factory, chose to make Kia Pride. Among them, Xinhui and Guangtong used CKD assembly mode for production, while Yueda Group and Kia formed "Yueda Kia" joint venture company in 1997 (note that there was no Dongfeng at that time) to produce in a joint venture mode.
