都市高尔夫
一汽顺德工厂是1992年一汽和顺德市德力集团签约成立的，一汽顺德组装的第一台车是日本的巴宁面包车，后来又把韩国的现代轿车拿来组装。一汽顺德方面不满足于只做一个组装厂，其希望能够生产属于自己的轿车，要生产轿车就必须从被国家列入“现有生产目录”的车型选择或者是从“引进车型目录”的车型中选择。
当时一汽的轿车产品序列中，红旗和大众捷达、奥迪100在“现有生产目录”中，高尔夫在“引进生产目录”中（大众方面一直希望能够国产高尔夫，但是因为国内对于两厢车始终不太认可，高尔夫便一直躺在引进目录里面“睡大觉”）。长春方面自然不会放手把红旗、捷达、奥迪100这三只生金蛋的公鸡放到顺德去，如此一来就只有高尔夫可选选择。于是在1993年初，顺德方面便专门组织了一个引进汽车项目的考察团，远赴德国大众考察引进高尔夫项目。
在西班牙的一家大众工厂考察时，考察团对这里生产的一款叫“Cordoba（三厢Ibiza）”的车型产生了浓厚的兴趣。中方希望以“高尔夫”的名义引进该车型（高尔夫在引进目录上），但是德方则希望保留“高尔夫”这个名字以备将来“Golf”国产时使用。最终，经过谈判，中方决定使用都市-高尔夫的名义生产该车型。之后，一汽顺德汽车厂马上用SKD的方式，组装都市-高尔夫轿车。

It hopes to produce its own cars. To produce cars, it must choose from the models listed in the "existing production catalogue" or from the models listed in the "introduced model catalogue".

Changchun will not let HongQi, Jetta, Audi 100, the three chicken whick can laying golden eggs go to Shunde, so there is only Golf can be choose. So at the beginning of 1993, Shunde organized a special investigation team for the introduction of automobile project to inspect the introduction of Golf project to Volkswagen Eurpo.
During a visit to Volkswagen Spain, the group was intrigued by a model called the Cordoba (Ibiza sedan). The Chinese want to introduce the car under the name "Golf" (only the Golf on the import list), but the Germans want to keep the name "Golf" for future use when the Golf is made in China. Finally, after negotiation, the Chinese decided to use the name of "City-Golf" to produce this model. After that, FAW Shunde Automobile Factory immediately used SKD to assemble City-Golf cars.
