双龙 主席
1954年，双龙汽车的前身“Ha Dong-Hwan制作所”成立，最初主要生产吉普车
1977年，Ha Dong-Hwan制作所将名字改变为“Dong A”有限公司
1986年，双龙集团收购Dong A公司并在其生产的汽车上使用“双龙-SsangYong”名称
1983年石油危机爆发之后北美掀起了汽车小型化热潮，吉普切诺基的发布则将这股热潮带到了suv领域。其他厂商纷纷则推出相同概念的车型，小型SUV也开始大举进入家用车市场。作为深受美国文化影响的韩国自然也被这股热潮所“感染”，起亚、现代、双龙纷纷开始研发城市suv产品 ，起亚和现代得益于雄厚的技术储备很快就开始研发工作。
但是，因为双龙自身的发动机技术较弱所以在研发上迟迟没有进展，最终其采用了技术合作的方式来解决发动机的问题。双龙自1991年起与戴姆勒-奔驰建立了技术合作伙伴关系，并根据许可证musso上使用奔驰发动机。这笔交易对双方都有利的，它帮助奔驰在韩国获得了渠道，同时也使双龙能够获得奔驰的技术资料。
双龙主席就是这种技术合作下的产物，双龙主席CM是第一代主席，生产周期从1997年至2004年。主席CM基于1985年至1996年制造的梅赛德斯-奔驰W124 E级平台，而其设计灵感则来自W140梅赛德斯-奔驰S级，其使用的三款发动机也都是奔驰的。

In 1977，SsangYong was established named Ha Dong-Hwan Motor workshop .
In 1977， the Ha Dong-Hwan Moto company changed its name to Dong A Motor Co Ltd.
In 1986 ，the SsangYong Group acquired the Dong A Motor and named SsangYong in all vehicles .
After the 1983 oil crisis, the miniaturization wave was born in North America, the launch of the Jeep Cherokee brought the miniaturization wave into the suv market. Other manufacturers also launched small-size models , and small SUV have begun to enter the family car market. South Korea, which is deeply influenced by American culture, has been "infected" by this wave, Kia\Hyundai\Ssangyong have begun to develop suv products. Kia and Hyundai have quickly begun research and development work by their strong technical reserves.

The SsangYong Chairman CM was the first generation Chairman, it was made from 1997 until 2004. The Chairman CM based on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz W124 E-Class that was made from 1985 until 1996, design was inspired by the W140 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Three engines were all Benz .
