拉达 1600
1966年,在菲亚特的协助下,苏联成立了一个新的汽车企业VAZ,以引进西欧的先进汽车技术。
1970年,VAZ的第一款产品拉达1200问世,其原型车是1966年推出的菲亚特124。1972年和1975年,拉达分别推出了1200的改进型1500和1600,1600一直生产到2005年,在8、90年代曾有相当数量出口到中国。

在1971年开幕的苏共第二十四次代表大会上,当时的苏联总理阿列克谢·柯西金正式提出了要设计一款适合于苏联广大农村地区使用的车型。同年,VAZ汽车厂和AZLK汽车厂(莫斯科人生产厂)就正式展开了相关设计。
经过多轮测之后,拉达niva在1976年3月正式量产。面对社会主义阵营投放的版本被命名为VAZ-2121或者是Niva 2121,而出口版本则命名为Niva 1600。

Lada 1600
In 1966,in order to import advanced automotive technology from Western Europe the Soviet Union established a new automotive enterprise-VAZ with Fiat's assistance.
In 1970, VAZ's first product, the Lada 1200, was introduced, based on the 1966 Fiat 124. In 1972 and 1975, Lada launched the improved model - 1500 and 1600. The 1600 was produced until 2005, and a largr number of them were exported to China in the 1980s and 1990s.

Lada Niva
At the 24th Congress of the Soviet Communist Party which opened in 1971, the Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin announced a proposed to design a car suitable for the vast rural areas of the Soviet Union. In the same year, VAZ and AZLK(Muscovite production plant) was started design work.
After many rounds of testing, the Lada NIVA went into mass production in March 1976. The version for socialist ally was named VAZ-2121 or Niva 2121, while the export version was named Niva 1600.
